(Now now, I want you the viewer to completely read and view the images, please & thank you.)
Silent Empire is a local group of Krump dancers. If you remember my Thanksgiving week post, they were the first portion of the entry; this post is of the postponed session. Anywho, I was introduced to the crew through my nephew (far right), and they are amazing at what they do. I mean gritty, raw talent. THOSE ARE NOT GANG SIGNS!!! They are representing their crew(s), and just know that they are not angry men. Trust me, between being cold and focused, I couldn't stop laughing at each and every one of them. So how about them photos...

So the reason why I asked for one to read and view the images, is to lead to this point... Content in images can be a bit "deceiving", especially when one does not know or understand something, such as a sub-culture or style of dance. These gentlemen are not to be judged by what is shown in the images. What you see, is: a student, fathers, a husband, family men, hard workers, etc.. The style of Krump is a form of praise dance; it was founded in California by the very well respected "Tight Eyez" (Street Kingdom, ABDC) and is now worldwide; research if interested, or watch the David LaChapelle movie "RIZE" to understand. This style of dance has been a gateway for them, and the misconception of "being mad" is far from their everyday character. Granted, I don't have to go into great details about each person and their session, but one thing I do not like, personally and in business, is being misunderstood and judged by what one sees. I'm proud to witness young adults and creatives in my city do something positive!
