I, Essence, enjoy making (fast) friendships, especially when it comes to photography. I met Dani through a mutual friend/former client, one day while out working on other projects, and we all ate some good, good ramen. I'm used to people saying "oh you took those pics, dope!", but Dani wanted to know more about what I do with my work. It's rare when I'm asked about my style of doing photography, and I have no problem at all sharing if willing to learn and have fun. That's we did, and it will be in a later post!!!

Back to this, couple days later after meeting, we met again at the City River Market. We were supposed to meet other (dancer) friends, but we ended up having a "Shot Gun Session" (impromptu) after talking and asking questions about my business. She didn't know that I took notice to her photography work as well with her fashion blog. She's been to other location that I've never heard of, or had the opportunity to visit, and we learned from each other. She looked great that I had to steal a chance to have a session before she departed to California weeks later. For someone who didn't know what to do as for modeling, look at these...

Maria Mariaaaaaa! Sorry I had to do it... So at my "Clark Kent" job, she was a customer and I was just mesmerized with her looks and personality. Normally I don't bring up my personal business while there, but I just had to ask her if she had modeled before. To my surprise, she said no. Whaaat?!? I mean seriously, she has her own sense of laid-back, tomboy style, yet be cute with it all. I was glad that she trusted me to have a mini session, and hope to photograph her again! Images, ¡ahora!

Tiffanie (Tiffy) is a creative that I met last year through our mothers working together. I had just came home from school (University of Central MO, Go Mules!) and in time for Easter dinner. Tiffy was vibrant with colors and had an unique style, and I was drawn to it. Plus, she looked photo-worthy and I needed models for portfolio. Not just saying that, it was for portfolio class! Thankfully she was all for it and we went our merry way to a nearby trail and had a mini session. Skip to Thanksgiving of last year where we had another session, and this Thanksgiving to where this post is really all about!

Now when I say that she is a creative, I mean she also has a talent with art. She loves ceramics, and now is a culinary chef. I'm still waiting on a plate. Plus, she's pretty darn awesome! So how about I stop typing, and post the rest of the session.

Thanksgiving Week - Kansas City Photographer

Alrighty, so let me just get right on into it. Since the last post, EMP hasn't had much business (not looking for pity, it's ok) so once Thanksgiving break came around, I finally had my moments to shoot. Trust when I say that I was too excited. Not like it was a big deal but...it was!

First session that was supposed to happen on Wednesday got postponed due to the weather. I can bear almost anything, but it was cold and windy... As I said that night: Disrespectful! Lol, so we all agreed to wait for a better day, and one that won't be as cold. The night wasn't all bad that, we ate, and you can't go wrong with eating. I'm glad we all agreed to shoot for another day, I wouldn't want my clients to get sick. No Bueno!

Next day was Thanksgiving. Gobble Gobble everyone! -insert turkey leg emoji-
I hope that you all had a great, festive, and sleep-induced holiday. The food was quite delicious, but I was glad to actually capture some images before we got into them. Well, someone got into the turkey, but it's all good. Skip to some hours later, I was glad to know that a family friend and her mother were coming over again to join us. Why? Because she's always awesome to photograph! We already claimed it a tradition, except this time we planned ahead, but she never fails to come looking great.

Meet Ms. Tiffanie aka Tiffy. If you noticed, she's on the homepage and in the portfolio as well. She's a wonderful spirit to have as a model, just funny and ready to do whatever you ask of her. She's not a "model model", but she's always been a trooper to let me capture her and her amazing style. I let her use my lipstick (I cleaned it of course) and sunglasses, and BAM! Can't wait to share...wait Blog about it with images!!! I still have to get used to blogging again.

Then the next day, I had the wonderful opportunity to have my fall senior session! Meet Alissa, a high school senior planning to be part of the fashion world, and I do believe that she will make a mark in it. She came ready with her outfits, and I loved them. We were very excited with the outfits and locations working together, and the lighting... Yasss! I was very glad that she decided to work with EMP to capture her senior images, and I definitely can't wait to share/blog this session as well.

This week was pretty darn awesome, and I (finally) got to use another camera that I'd like to own in the near future. A nice upgrade, but my lil buddy still works for me.

EMP is Here!!!

Finally, dude! Lol kidding, but I cannot express how EXCITED I am to say that the website is fully finished now. I have been going through images, as well as capturing new images, and that just prolonged my procrastination... So anywho, thanks to another locally talented Tayana of Tay Daliese Photography, she non-verbally told me to get my stuff together! I told myself to just do it, and here it is.
